Healthy and Happy!

healthy and happy

Both ends of the “healthy” spectrum this week…Veggies and Dessert! Let’s keep a little balance in our lives people; we need to stay healthy, but we also need to stay happy. So eat your veggies, but indulge a little with yummy desserts every once in while.

Be Healthy and Happy!

Two Gr8 veggie recipes to round out your nutritious menu for the week:

  • Debbie posted one of her favorite springtime soups…Green Gazpacho; loaded with flavor and good for you, too!
  • And Anna shared a recipe for sweet and savory Caramelized Onion Jam; top your steaks, burgers, or put it on beef tacos!

And while nutrition is important ……. Dessert is also important! And we love that “desserts” is “stressed” spelled backwards. So don’t forget dessert! Especially at the end of a stressful week.

And most desserts have SOME redeeming qualities.

  • Jurga has been experimenting with paleo cooking. She shared this Gluten-Free Cinnamon Coffee Cake, and it is delicious! While it still contains sugar, it is gluten-free and many of the ingredients are organic…it is clean eating!
  • Kyle tempts us with a decadent Chocolate Pecan Bourbon Pie…where have you been all our lives? Because pecans contain protein and good fats, we think that the sugars are offset…wink, wink, nudge, nudge.

Enjoy your weekend!

And be a Gr8 Friend!
