What a great Saturday it was! Elevate 2015 was taking place in Orange County and Debbie (remember she works for Sizzix, a conference sponsor) suggested we attend to learn more about this exciting world of blogging.
It was right up Great Eight Friends’ alley, an educational conference with a party atmosphere. There were delicious meals, yummy treats, how-to workshops, party favors and, most importantly, great blogging tips.
The day began with Alison Prince, telling us to never listen to those people who say we can’t do something. She started and runs Pick Your Plum and How Does She, among others. Check out her story and be amazed and motivated!
A delicious lunch was catered by Stonefire Grill, with nuggets of yumminess waiting at our places by Bella’s Bakery and Bowtique, @bellabakery. They were melting in the sun, so I HAD to eat mine immediately!
After lunch we had some fun making playing cards into works of art with the help of Deco Art; tasting brewed chocolate by Crio Bru and personalizing a mug; and creating a beautiful greeting card, effortlessly with the Sizzix Big Shot. Of course, this was my favorite part because Debbie was doing the demonstration!
The afternoon speakers were Ginger Parrish, a lifestyle blogger; Jen Romero of Bloomies Handmade; Kailee Wright, also a lifestyle blogger; and Rachel Brenchley of Modify Ink. The final speaker of the evening was Courtney Brown, CEO of Cents of Style.
Dinner was another wonderful meal, sponsored by Router Limits, a new option for keeping your family’s internet viewing safe. And after dinner…delicious desserts! Each speaker had a compelling story and we learned a lot about how to create a successful blog. The most surprising part of the day was all the “swag” we were given and the raffle prizes. The sponsors were generous and we brought home a lot of fun stuff!Over the next several months we will be implementing some of the ideas on this site to make it better for each of our Gr8 Friends! Please let us know if there is anything you would like to see on the blog to make your Gr8 Life more fun.
