Summertime, and the Livin’ is Easy…

summertimeSummer officially started this week, school’s are out, and the temperatures are rising. It’s time for grillin’ and Q’n.

We’ll be bringing you fun, light dishes all through ∞∞∞∞

Jurga gave us her recipe for the Best Barbecued Chicken. It’s a Gr8 one to keep on hand for entertaining because you finish it in the oven, leaving you time to enjoy appetizers and drinks with your guests!

And one of our fave starters to order when the 4 or 8 of us go out is Shishito Peppers. Debbie shows us how to make them at home. Perfect for doing on the grill if you like.

And for dessert…drumroll please…how about some unbelievably yummy brownies that start with a cake mix?!?! Yep, a crowd favorite, Kyle’s Caramel Chocolate Chip Brownies. The perfect grab-n-go summertime dessert.

And our #tbt was our Gr8 Spa Dinner! Read all about the time we ate dinner in our robes! I told you we have Gr8 Fun here at Great Eight Friends! Check out the menu and party ideas right here!

We all love Heloise and her Helpful Hints!

Here are a few reminders to launch us on a fresh start into summertime. Because when we come inside from being out in the fresh, sunny air, we don’t want any odors to ruin our mood.

To freshen a room: Put 2 to 3 drops of a citrus essential oil onto a tissue and wave it around the room. This will make the room smell better and it will even help anyone in the room to feel better!

To freshen a musty closet or unused room: Leave a shallow bowl filled with freshly ground coffee somewhere in the space. Coffee grounds tend to neutralize odors and they have a pleasing smell themselves.

Sour smelling trash can or compactor: Put a few drops of citrus essential oil or vanilla extract on a paper towel and drop it into the trash. This will freshen up smelly garbage.

Smelly dishwasher: Pour 2 to 3 cups of while distilled vinegar into the bottom of the dishwasher and let it sit for at least an hour. Then run the dishwasher and the vinegar will cycle through and eliminate any bad odors; no need to use soap.
