Did you know that October is National Chili Month? Yes, there is a whole month dedicated to chili, and October is the perfect time for chili. The weather has started cooling down, it’s football season, and having a big bowl of spicy goodness to dig into is perfect!
We LOVE our chili here at Great 8 Friends, which is why we have several recipes. One of the best things about chili is that most recipes can be made ahead of time. You can make it a couple weeks in advance and freeze it, or just the day before, or put it in the slow cooker in the morning and let it cook until dinner is served! If you like your chili with big chunks of beef and lots of layers of flavor, then Scott’s World Class Chili is for you. Chunks of beef that have cooked all day then come apart under your fork are perfect for a fall meal. For a healthy meal, try this Turkey Chili. The Gr8 thing about this recipe is that you can substitute in half ground beef or all ground beef if the turkey is too light for you. But promise me you will try it with all turkey at least once…my family loves it!
And this third choice is one of my new favorites. Kyle cre-8-ed this White Cheddar Chicken Chili and all I can say is, YUM YUM YUM… Normally, creamy cheesy foods aren’t my jive, but this chili, filled with vegetables, spices, and white cheddar cheese, is amazing.
So fire up the slow cooker, choose a recipe (or 3!) and gather ’round the game to enjoy some chili!
